RECOMMENDATION FOR GOLDEN FLEECE/GOLDEN SAT TECHNOLOGY
The Breakthrough Initiatives is a multi-hundred million dollar (US) effort to search for life in the universe. Our top project is to develop technology to send a nano-probe to the nearest star system (Alpha Centauri) in the next few decades. We intend to use a laser driven light-sail. Golden Fleece was chosen over dozens of others as our most promising lightsailapproach.
Simon P. Worden, Chairman, Breakthrough Prize Foundation
The Golden Fleece lightsailpromises to revolutionize our ability to send payloads --not only outside our solar system but to many locations inside our solar system.
I thereby confirm that the team –GoldenSat – applied and won the Space Exploration Masters 2017 Edition for the Airbus-Merck Challenge aimed to award ideas that enable a sustainable space environment and human life in space. The proposed idea was the concept of an intelligent de-orbitation sail system.
From this, the team, backed by two Poland-based companies, such as Amepox Microelectronics Sp. z o.o. and ABM Space Sp. z o.o., aimed at creating and commercializing high technology products, mainly electronics and robotics applicable to space technology. This business endeavour requires development of at least five technological items such as TIM (Thermal Interface Materials) adhesives and pastes, Electrically conductive inks for Ink Jet technology, Nano-silver colloids, flexible femtosat, and Space sail (de-orbitation and propulsion) with printed electronics.
